Solar Design Software

Every solar quote, engineered instead of estimated.

DHOOP takes a solar installer from an empty roof to a costed, buildable design in one continuous flow. Twelve guided phases cover the survey, the panel layout, the mounting structure, the wiring and the money, and each one feeds the next so nothing has to be re-entered or re-checked.

The problem

Most solar proposals are assembled from a spreadsheet, a satellite screenshot and someone's experience. The design lives in one place, the structure calculation in another and the pricing in a third, so a change to the panel count means redoing all three by hand.

That gap is where margin disappears. Tilt gets guessed, post spacing gets over-specified to be safe, and the bill of materials is padded because nobody wants to be short on site. The customer waits days for a number that still carries a wide error bar.

What we built

One tool that carries a project from survey to costing without leaving the browser. You scan the site, mark the obstacles, run the solar analysis, lay out the panels, configure the power, plan the deployment, engineer the mounting structure, wire it up and cost it.

Every phase is aware of the ones before it. Set the facing direction during solar analysis and the structure phase inherits it. Change the row slope and the post and rail counts update with it. The bill of materials is a consequence of the design rather than a separate document someone types up afterwards.

How it works in practice

A guided twelve-phase build

Site scan, blueprint, obstacle map, solar analysis, panel loadout, power config, zone command, deployment map, structure build, wire up, mission cost and launch report. You always know where you are and what is still missing.

Structure engineering, not guesswork

Choose sawtooth or continuous row slope, set front edge height, pick post and rail materials, and set how many panels each post carries. The 3D model updates as you go, so mistakes are visible before they reach the site.

Tilt tied to the actual location

Optimal tilt is derived for the site rather than copied from a rule of thumb, and panel centres stay locked to the deployment map so the 3D structure and the 2D plan never drift apart.

Costing and a client-ready report

The mission cost phase turns the design into a full bill of materials, and the launch report exports as a branded PDF you can send straight to the customer.

How it works

The whole thing runs in the browser with a real-time 3D canvas, so a surveyor can adjust a design on a laptop at the site and the customer can watch it change.

Projects save and reload, so a quote can be revisited months later and re-costed against current material prices instead of rebuilt from scratch.

What is next

  • Wider component library so more regional mounting systems are covered out of the box.
  • Shared projects, so a sales team and an engineering team can work on the same design.
